Areas and area units

How it works

The area measures how many unit squares fit into a figure. For area units, the conversion factor per level is 100. A square is a special rectangle.

Note
Rectangle: A = a·b; Square: A = a²; 1 m² = 10000 cm².

An example

A rectangle measures 10 cm by 9 cm. Calculate the area. Give the result in cm².

A=a·b=10·9. Result: 90 cm².
