Statistics and connected final tasks
How it works
In final tasks, data are evaluated and models tested. Averages can be weighted by frequencies. Always check if the result fits the context and whether a percentage point or a percentage change is asked.
Note
Weighted mean=Σ(xᵢ·hᵢ)/Σhᵢ; Change in % = (new−old)/old·100.
Weighted mean=Σ(xᵢ·hᵢ)/Σhᵢ; Change in % = (new−old)/old·100.
An example
5 learners each achieve 2 points, another 5 learners each 6 points. Calculate the average of all points. Round to two decimal places. Give only the requested number.
Weighted sum=5·2+5·6. Divide by total 10 learners. Result: 4.
