Final exam preparation: details and text evidence (Russian, grade 10)

How it works

In this topic area, you practice reading Russian texts carefully and searching specifically for details, evidence, and information. You need to understand how certain information is presented in the text and how to find it with targeted questions. Typical tasks are identifying details (e.g. time, place, people), matching statements to text passages, and correctly interpreting text evidence. Example: In the sentence ‹Вчера Анна пошла в музей с братом›, you find out when (‹вчера›), who (‹Анна› and ‹брат›), and where to (‹в музей›).

Note
Read the Russian text carefully and look specifically for the information requested in the question. Pay attention to signal words, time expressions, names, and direct statements. Choose the option that matches the text evidence exactly.

An example

Read the text: ‹В среду после уроков школьная команда готовила выставку о местной истории для Дня школы. Лена отвечала за подписи к фотографиям, список экспонатов и короткие пояснения к старым картам. Накануне вечером она заметила, что в одном описании перепутаны даты основания двух зданий, и решила всё проверить ещё раз. Утром Лена пришла в библиотеку раньше остальных, взяла краеведческий справочник, сверила сведения и исправила ошибку до начала репетиции. Благодаря этому учительница сразу утвердила стенд, и команда успела спокойно закончить оформление.› Why did Lena come to the library earlier in the morning?

The correct answer is: She came earlier to check the incorrect data again and correct the mistake. The text supports this with ‹решила всё проверить ещё раз› as well as ‹исправила ошибку до начала репетиции›.
