Vocabulary on health, media and the environment in Russian
How it works
In this topic area, students learn important Russian vocabulary and expressions related to health (e.g. ‹врач›, ‹больница›, ‹лекарство›), media (e.g. ‹газета›, ‹телевизор›, ‹интернет›) and the environment (e.g. ‹дерево›, ‹река›, ‹чистый воздух›). These terms are often used in everyday life and in simple texts. It is important to recognize the meaning and context of these words in order to be able to talk about health, media use or environmental problems. For example, ‹больница› means “hospital” and is used in connection with health, while ‹газета› “newspaper” belongs to the media. Understanding this vocabulary helps with reading, listening and speaking about these topics.
Pay attention to the context in which the Russian word is used in order to identify the correct meaning from the areas of health, media or the environment. Many words can be clearly assigned to one area.
