School, work and everyday social life – English basics and application
How it works
In this topic area, students learn how to express themselves in English about school, jobs and everyday life in society. This includes typical vocabulary such as ‹school subject›, ‹internship›, ‹colleague›, ‹to apply for a job› and everyday expressions, e.g. ‹What do you do for a living?›. It is also important to understand texts about work processes, school life and social topics, as well as to be able to filter information from such texts. The use of grammatical structures such as ‹Present Simple› and ‹Past Simple› is central here in order to talk about routines and experiences; for plans and intentions, ‹going to› or ‹Present Continuous› are often also important.
Describe activities, jobs and social situations in English using suitable vocabulary and tenses. Pay attention to the correct use of question forms and typical expressions in the context of school, work and everyday life.
