Divisibility, divisors, and multiples

How it works

A divisor divides a number without remainder. Common divisors help in partitioning; common multiples in recurring events. A prime number is greater than 1 and has exactly two positive divisors.

Note
gcd: greatest common divisor; lcm: least common multiple.

An example

Determine the greatest common divisor of 18 and 81. Provide only the requested number.

Determine the positive divisors of both numbers. The greatest common divisor is 9. Result: 9.
