Mean and relative frequency
How it works
A relative frequency relates the absolute frequency to the total number. It is given as a fraction, decimal, or percent. The mean is sensitive to particularly large or small values.
Note
Relative frequency = h/n; mean = Σx/n.
Relative frequency = h/n; mean = Σx/n.
An example
In 60 trials, an event occurs 12 times. What is the relative frequency in percent? Give the result in %.
h_rel=12:60=1/5; times 100. Result: 20 %.
