Metal Ages and Change – Basic Principles
How it works
In the European overview, lessons usually speak of the Bronze Age and the Iron Age as the metal ages after the Stone Age. In some regions, a Copper Age is additionally distinguished. People learned to obtain, smelt, and process metals. Bronze is an alloy of copper and tin; later, ironworking became widespread. This led to new tools, weapons, and changes in trade, division of labor, and settlements. The beginning and course differed depending on the region, raw materials, and exchange of knowledge.
