Adding and subtracting fractions
How it works
To add or subtract, you need a common denominator. First, expand the fractions, then calculate with the numerators and simplify the result. A fraction can also be written as a decimal by division.
Note
a/b+c/d=(a·d+c·b)/(b·d).
a/b+c/d=(a·d+c·b)/(b·d).
An example
